NOTE:Predicting the future is a vital information guiding all animals incl
uding humans in their decision of what to do next. How do brains accomplis
h this task? How do they generate adaptive behavioral choice? All animals
possess a repertoire of inborn behaviors and continuously modify and adjus
t them to meet the requirements of the environment by learning. To study t
hese processes\, I use operant (instrumental) learning paradigms and contr
ast them with classical (Pavlovian) conditioning situations in flies (Dros
ophila) and snails (Aplysia). Such comparisons highlight the differences a
nd similarities between behavioral and environmental learning\, the two fo
rms of predictive learning. \nMore: http://brembs.net
